Experiences with Ikea Besta TV Cabinet

I have a question about the Besta TV cabinet. It is the Besta TV / storage combination with sliding doors.

In this case, the flat-screen TV is screwed to the wooden back panel. However, I am worried that the wall cannot support it. According to Ikea, the wall holds 50 kg. The 42-inch TV weighs 25 kg, and if you get a suitable wall mount for it, that usually weighs around 25 kg as well.

Since it is not solid wood, I am now worried that the wall cannot hold the TV and that the expensive thing will fall down.

Does anyone have similar concerns or experience with Besta and can tell me something about it or give recommendations?

By now everything has been settled. BESTA holds perfectly :)

There actually are wall mounts that weigh 25 kg (I even found one that weighs 29 kg) but such a heavy one is not necessary at all. I have one from Hama for 30 euros. It weighs 6 kg, is made of sheet steel, and looks very sturdy. Moreover, you have to make sure that the mount itself is very flat, because the BESTA cabinet only has 17 cm of depth, otherwise the sliding doors won’t close, and the TV alone is already about 10 cm thick. You can’t connect a Scart cable, but who still uses that in HDMI times.

All in all, I am satisfied with the project and BESTA holds and looks good :D

Hello everyone, I also want to get the Besta TV-/ storage combination with sliding doors. The online shop has now made me a bit uncertain. There the combination is only specified / categorized for devices up to 37 inches. Is 42 inches now possible after all? That would be great... Regards David
