The interest rate for 20 years was - as far as I remember correctly - 1.7.

Hello, 2.5% is already a tight repayment. Have you already been told the outstanding debt after 10 or 15 years? I would have concerns, especially since with children you want to reduce it further. In the public sector, are there only tariff increases or sometimes larger ones due to career? Otherwise, inquiries from brokers like Interhyp or Dr. Klein and confidently plan for 20 years of fixed interest.

Hello, no, we also want to repay 2.5% with children, but we would like to repay more now. In addition to tariff increases and step increments, higher pay groups may also be added in the public sector. Of course, you cannot plan that now, but the salary naturally increases continuously just because of the steps.

Also, 2.5% is not a low repayment.

Hello,

even if I now expose myself as an absolute ignorant, I have a bit of trouble understanding your question and would therefore like to ask you to explain your comments to me once again.

- We have been to various advisors and unfortunately cannot get a better interest rate than 1.5
- the interest rate for 20 years would be 1.73
- Why do you think that with such a large amount one should rather secure the interest rate long-term? Thanks for your help

Yes, very brave, a lot of risk and probably little house for the price. But overall, it will work out. But do you really want that?

How long you should fix the interest rate always depends on the calculated remaining debt. How high would that be for you?
