They haven’t changed anything by presumably measuring incorrectly. But – as the construction expert already says – something like this is in the contract. However, as the client, I would be surprised if they paid for such mistakes out of their own pocket.

The garage now has to be lowered, so more earth has to be removed and a retaining wall has to be built!

I simply think that the surveyor & architect did not measure and calculate correctly!

You must have had a meeting with the architect, the one that precedes the building application? In this meeting, architect and builder usually determine, among other things, the exact position of the garage based on the data of the preliminary site plan. This means you must have talked about the elevations on your property? Why do you think that the surveyor made a mistake, entered incorrect elevations in the preliminary site plan? Rhineland regards
