You prove that your claim that the Metod cabinets are wider than the FAKTUM units is wrong.
Neither are the METOD wider than e.g. 600, nor are the FAKTUM narrower than the nominal size, e.g. 600mm

I don’t understand why you bother with a foreign Ikea site for that.
That doesn’t help you either, it only shows dimensions like e.g.: 600mm, not smaller, as you think.

I believe that the claim referring to the (exact) nominal dimension has been lost sight of at some point.
The new cabinets are also never wider than the nominal dimension.
So the "calculation" that the doors would no longer fit because they collide with the neighbor is irrelevant.
But that was the point of my inquiry,

Hello West Coast, IKEA expert is right. You should measure your Faktum cabinets. The easiest way is to get a cheap Metod door and just try it out. The old Faktum series was, to be precise, for example a 60 cm cabinet actually only 598 mm wide. This dimension resulted from the bottom width of 561.5 mm plus 2x side panel thickness of 18 mm. The tolerances for the widths and also the lengths must not be 0.5 mm less and 0.2 mm more. It is the same with the Metod series, the bottom is now exactly 564 mm wide. Ikea is very precise about this, no matter in which country the carcasses are manufactured. The guidelines are the same for every producer. If you are now wondering how I know this: I work in a company that manufactures Metod and Pax and we are repeatedly trained to keep the quality as high as possible.
