I find the numbers very interesting now, because they show me that significantly more insulation does not really bring much...

We also have KS with 14cm mineral wool insulation and no insulation under the floor slab. Otherwise identical equipment, but almost 200 m² living space including basement (240 m² total).

Annual primary energy demand

Q_p = 38.04 kWh/(m²a)

Transmission heat loss

H'_t = 0.305 W/(m²K)

Nice that you can compare this once.

The wall construction was simply specified by our construction company. Whether the windows and the front door are comparable for both of us, I don't know. Apart from the specification "Dreifachverglasung" for the windows, I have no details. But both for you and for me, the values are very good.

The transmission loss is too high for some insulation nerds. The wall construction in our case is just slightly below the energy saving ordinance - but it’s enough for me and I also find it completely decent and sufficient like you do.

Have you already had the heating load calculated?

Our windows overall have a U-value of 0.9 and the front door was calculated with 1.1 or so, but we will get a better one.

No, heating load has not been calculated yet. What do you have? Can the heating load be simply estimated based on the heated area and the two values Q_p and H'_t?

No, it has to be calculated properly – I also specified the temperatures of the rooms/corridors and did not leave them according to [DIN] (far too cool).

We have 8.1 kW – a calculation is urgently recommended especially for heat pumps.

We are getting a modulating heat pump, which can not only have a fixed kW rating but can be regulated continuously. This means that for half heating capacity in autumn or spring, you don’t have the on-off cycling of an 8 kW pump to produce 4 kW, but the pump modulates down to 4 kW. Does that make a difference? No idea. We only have the guarantee that the calculated annual performance factor will be over 4.5 and that we will thus receive the BAFA subsidy.
