Electricity connection with e-mobility or not?

Hello dear forum members, I am new here and this is already my first question to you: We are going to build a single-family house, the plot has already been purchased, now we need to order a power connection and construction power from Westnetz. During the order process, there is an option whether you want to include E-mobility, you then have two possibilities: on the one hand, you can choose that you want a controllable connection according to §14, with an intelligent metering device, or on the other hand, you can choose the non-controllable option, but you get a hefty subsidy if you take the controllable one. I have tried all options: Variant 1: Power connection and construction power without E-mobility costs about 800€. Variant 2: Power connection and construction power with E-mobility and controllable by Westnetz costs only 350€. But only because I specified 22kW additionally for it, otherwise the connection would even be completely free if you choose controllable. Now my concerns, or rather confusion... If I take controllable with the 22kW, for example, later on an intelligent meter will be added, which costs about 100€ per year. If I do not take the E-mobility, you have a higher connection price. Presumably, more focus will be placed on electric cars in the future, so it might be better to take the controllable connection. My wife thinks maybe one should not do that. What do you think, should one do it this way, with the E-connection that is controllable or the E-connection that is not controllable (presumably they will force you to have it controllable later anyway)? Or completely do without this connection? Many thanks in advance for your answers. Best regards Elmar

What is the capacity of the non-controllable connection?

I would not want the municipal utilities to be able to control my power connection. They are welcome to come by and take a look at everything, but not control anything remotely.

If one ever decides to buy an electric car, if they don’t have one yet, they simply purchase a wallbox (well, then maybe only 11kW). A sufficiently strong power cable can, of course, already be laid underground during the construction phase and end at the carport/garage.

Yesterday, I applied for a controllable connection for charging electric cars, stated 22kW for a total of 2 x 11kW charging stations. The only tempting part was the offer that the connection fee would be waived. However, I can still revoke the contract; what should I specify in the new contract so that they directly plan the fuse box for higher power?

Well, you have to ask your electricity provider what they offer. For example, I have a 43kW home connection without having specified anything special, and that is more the rule than the exception.

With 400V 3x32 Ampere, you can operate a 22kw charging station. As suggested, just inquire with the provider about which power levels they offer as a house connection. Better to take one size bigger. In the future, it will probably be more difficult to obtain higher connection capacities. Besides, you certainly don’t want to dig up your outdoor facility and the sidewalk in a few years. Since we needed more power and also wanted reserves, we secured with 125A, meaning 80kw. For you, 43kw-64kw makes sense. Have you checked with Westnetz what the control means? Emobility is only available at certain times, etc.... I would definitely go for a non-controlled connection.

I have left it as is now and received confirmation of a connection with 3x80A, which would be around 55kW. Normally, this size would cost 1170€ at Westnetz with a construction power connection, but because I chose the controllable E car connection, I only pay 350€ for everything. An E car charging station is then not mandatory later, only because of the consent is it now so cheap. Let's see what will come in the future.
