As already mentioned, a charging station does not make sense in advance, as every car needs something different. We have had a suitable power connection installed at the parking space and would be ready to install a charging station with it.

It doesn't help if the energy provider installs a Type 2 charging box and the OP buys a Chademo vehicle.

It can be complimentary and free 10 times over.

Where there are also adapters. And with Type 2, you will be better positioned in the medium term than with Chademo. But as has been written several times: lay thick cables: yes. The rest only when needed.

By the way, deliveries of the Model 3 begin the day after tomorrow in Germany, fittingly for the thread. I'm curious whether it will also cause such a stir in Europe once the cheaper variants are available.

I am having a high-voltage power connection installed in the garage, nothing more.

What kind of power connection should I have installed in the carport if I want to charge an electric car there later?
