Alright, since you are referring to me, I will explain. It has been a kind of running gag, game, joke between me and my parents for decades. Of course, I am financially absolutely independent and in no way dependent on it; we take it as a joke. We just find it funny. Sure, I sometimes get a few euros, but not an amount that would change my life or that of my parents/mom. Yes, it is a bit childish, but it is fun for us. For my parents/mom as well as for me. My mom and I find it funny that such an "old, gray-haired (not really ;-) ), plagued by arthritic fingers" offspring asks for pocket money. We also play this in company. :) Maybe you can classify it as a "weird kind of humor." It really is funny if you like this kind of humor. Maybe some forum member here can imagine what it would be like to ask for "a little pocket money" at the next meeting with their parents. ;-)

I can only agree with my predecessors. It is best to buy the property directly and finance it flexibly. I know the new development area and it seems much more spacious to me compared to what GEE is currently developing in Erkelenz....

I would also urgently recommend, as already mentioned in the initial posts, to seek out a local construction company. Both the construction company from Schwanenberg and the construction company from Selfkant-Saeffeln are often present on our construction sites and you hear many good things about both. Of course, not everything will always run 100% flawlessly there either, but the general tone is positive. I would simply take a look at various construction sites of the local contractors in the current new development area and just talk to the builders regarding their satisfaction.

At first, I also only had the big companies in mind and later often had to swallow hard when going through the construction descriptions, as what apparently is not standard and has to be paid for extra...

Addendum: It is also always the trigger for such funny discussions like "Me at your age ..." or "The youth of today ...". So I, almost 60, am then the youth of today :-) ... all with proper exaggerations, barbs, and irony. As mentioned, a special kind of humor. :-)

Oh, you have such a charming way. I didn't feel attacked at all and understand your intention. And it's pretty clear that some things come across ambiguously online. Will you or your wife ask your parents for "a little pocket money" at the next meeting? ;-) Just as a test, wouldn't that be funny?
