Hello everyone,

let's see if there is a general answer to my question.
We are considering positioning our double garage perpendicular to the street. Is it possible to give a general statement on how much maneuvering space is needed? Especially the length of the garage driveway would be interesting here.

Thanks in advance
Volker

A look at the development plan helps.
With us, a distance of 5 meters from the street to the garage is required.

Hello!

That depends on your vehicles and your driving skills.

May I ask why you even come up with the idea?

最好先发布一下平面图,这样大家能更好地想象。

我们计划在我们的车库入口处再建4个停车位和调头区。我不喜欢倒车进入公共道路。

Architects and other planners can represent the radii/driving paths in plans. We are currently working on such a project; the area to be paved in front of the house/garage is approximately 6m x 8m, with the 6m corresponding to the width of the garage driveway.

If space is tight, perhaps 6m or even just 5m maneuvering depth will suffice, but that needs to be decided depending on whether you want to maneuver in or out in reverse every day. It also depends on the size of the cars.

Best regards

Thanks in advance for all the responses. I have attached the development plan here. Our plot is number 25, south is at the bottom, so there should be the most space here for a large terrace and a beautiful garden.

This is the first draft from our architect. However, the house needs to be rotated 180 degrees.
We wanted to know how far down we need to shift the house and the garage to have a decent driveway.

Since these are the first free drafts for an offer from our construction company, the plot is not yet considered here, hence the question to you.

I hope I managed to explain this somewhat clearly.

Regards
