Translating this theory into practice means precision, which probably not every craftsman is willing to do. However, there are still some who actually enjoy exactly that.

Here is our version in the previous apartment:

Frame on the tile and slightly chamfered and reduced at the bottom.

Above the tiles, the plaster was simply “pulled on”
Looks clean..

The shading makes it look like an optical illusion. Could you maybe also take a photo from the side?

Usually, you have 1cm to 2cm clearance with a frame. There has to be room for the foam. That means you don't need such high precision. Tile up to the edge and then install and fit the frame.

We did that too.

With us, the tiling was done up to the frame, or the tiler had the frame measurements and tiled as far as necessary, then the frame was installed and the remaining small gap will be sealed with silicone (we haven't managed that yet). In any case, it looks neat and the frame rests evenly against the wall everywhere.

Otherwise, they have managed to position the doors here so that the edges are not visible, for example because the door is positioned in the corner of the room
