I'm not sure if I understood that correctly: your wife gets 1 year of parental allowance and then you get another half year? How does that work?
It was written a bit quickly. I did say, for me it's still parental allowance 2. We switch to parental allowance 2 in the last 3 or so months of my wife's parental leave to stretch it out a bit, so it doesn't suddenly feel like you have nothing. In the end, it doesn't really matter, you could also just have the parental allowance paid out normally, then you have nothing for a few months but get the whole amount upfront.
Ok, you didn't write that your wife is also going on [Elterngeld Plus]. I only counted 4 months for you as well.
2,000 euros in Bavaria is tight, especially since you are not building in Hinterdupfing. You won't get the basement and garage done, as others have already written.
Ok, you hadn't mentioned that your wife is also taking Elterngeld Plus. I only came up with 4 months for you.
Well. You basically have the entitlement to 14 months. Whether you take the full amount 14 times or half the amount 28 times or a mix doesn't make any difference to the total sum. Elterngeld Plus, or 2 or whatever it's called, is actually only really interesting if you work part-time during that time, because then you have fewer deductions. At least that's how I understood it. When I go back to part-time, we want to have finished with Elterngeld by then, so there are no deductions at all.
