Hello everyone,
we have a DDR bungalow standing on our (recently acquired) plot. We have already obtained offers for the demolition via MyHammer, but since we now need the money elsewhere, we want to demolish it ourselves. Do you have experience with demolition, including the following topics:

    [*]Preparation for media dismantling,
    [*]Planning of disposal containers,
    [*]Which rental equipment is needed?
    [*]...

Thank you very much for your answers!

Yes, you need to have the electricity and water disconnected. You have to be careful about how exactly. There is dismantling, decommissioning, and relocation, and each has different consequences regarding costs and what you can still do with it afterward.
If I remember correctly, you can have water decommissioned for free, but electricity costs.
However, reconnecting water can be quite expensive, and under certain circumstances, relocation is cheaper.
But for all utilities, there are building owner advisors, so it’s best to just turn to them.
Oh, and the situation as it is right now is of course also important. So, are the utilities currently going directly into the house, or are there connection shafts? If there is a shaft, is it in the later construction area (consider workspace here)?
Regarding appliances, I’m not very familiar. But with such old houses, you have to watch out for roofing felt and asbestos. They must be disposed of separately, and when gutting, special precautions must be taken (tent, full-body protective suit, etc.).

There are a few users here who have really done everything themselves, I just don’t remember 100% who they were.

I’ll just name a few on a hunch, if they don’t know, they don’t have to respond.

Oh, and in Berlin you always need a permit for the misuse of residential space or a negative certificate regarding residential space. Otherwise, someone might come and report you.

Disposal and regulations differ from state to state

We had it done in Bavaria

Demolition permit had to be applied for
(similar to a building permit)
Water, electricity, etc. must be disconnected by the provider. I must admit it went through informal channels for us. Village, everyone knows everyone
There are regulations for asbestos
Night storage heaters were free for us. We only had to apply for a disposal certificate.
Here there are regulations on how they must be packed

Disposal
I would call various disposal companies and get advice. I would have separated much more and more precisely.
We had wood, metals, glass, asbestos, rubble, and residual waste.
We needed laboratory tests for rubble. I think that was due to the amount we had

Tools.
Protective clothing including masks, hammer, chisel, jackhammer, chainsaw, possibly an excavator for the rubble

Which year of construction is it? As far as I know, many bungalows in the former GDR were also built with asbestos in the facade. Aren't there bungalow identification numbers that can be used to draw conclusions about this? In any case, caution is advised – just hitting it with a sledgehammer like that is reckless and should be avoided, because the fibers are released and at least contaminate the surrounding air. Building elements containing asbestos must be properly dismantled, sealed or packaged, and disposed of. Anyone who does not comply may be liable to prosecution or at least commits an expensive administrative offense. As far as I know, work (demolition work) involving hazardous substances may only be carried out by specialists or under supervision. For more information on hazardous substances, see [GefStoffV].

I think I can recognize a bungalow that is not too old. I base this on the apparently somewhat "more modern" ETICS facade. In particular, I think the window sills are too modern for an ETICS that is more than 30 years old.

Of course, I could be mistaken... Do you perhaps know more precisely about the age? (Copy of building file)

How can you tell that it is WDVS? The window sills do indeed look quite new.
