Hello,

a note, in 2019 I paid 185 euros for a 7m3 container for construction waste. Now the container costs 485 euros. So you need to know how much money the company wants for labor and what the disposal costs are. Otherwise, it may be that you don't save anything because the disposal has become very expensive.

With us, the disposal accounted for about 50% of the costs. For 20k, the barn, stable, residential house, and agricultural outbuildings were demolished and gutted. We had to prove that our wood was disposed of properly. Even the ancient timber frame was considered treated. The disposal including laboratory, transport, and disposal fees was 25k. We had received 12.5k from the municipality as a grant.

Where did you sell the stuff? In our case, the old house has a lot of things (doors, furniture, appliances, books...etc), but I’m not sure who would be interested in buying it.

Raw materials like aluminum, copper, metal to the local recycler and the rest through a well-known classifieds portal (which is also known for its auctions). Since we were also somewhat concerned about our own footprint, we probably invested more time in this than usual. Normally, the old house is supposed to be gone quickly, but we started listing the items months before moving out and pointed to the later pickup date. Things like the river gravel around the house and the grating were dispensable and were therefore handed over right away. The heating and windows, of course, only after moving out. It was agreed with the demolition company that the roof beams should be cut as long as possible and lifted down without damage. The !untreated! construction wood (softwood) from the intermediate ceiling and the walls we sawed into smaller pieces, split, and use as firewood. Things that we had no use for found quite a few people on this portal who could really still use many things in exchange for self-removal and pickup. Even the old water meter found a buyer.
