The way describes the timing/organizational process is correct and completely normal with large prefabricated house manufacturers. It was the same for us.
Surely no one here hopes that the poor general contractor is already itching to get started but his hands are tied because the client doesn’t just put up his basement.
And he doesn’t even dare to answer the phone anymore out of sheer insecurity.

I didn't make this up, but general contractors build like this. During the bidding phase, none of the GCs had a problem with awarding the basement work themselves. They just wanted good quality and not the last back-alley basement dump...
