No, they are usually explicitly excluded. No contractor can do anything about that.

I can't say 100% for sure, but I believe silicone joints are maintenance joints. Ergo no defect. In our specifications for construction services, it also states that plaster cracks up to a certain size are not a defect.

It says the same with us... Silicone joints are maintenance joints.... we have now been in the house for 1 year and I have now seen small cracks in the acrylic in a corner of one room at the transition from the slant to the solid exterior wall... so far everything is good with us - toi toi -.

Caution! Warranty generally applies to all components. Exceptions relate to wear parts and, of course, the contractor is not liable if a crack (for example in a permanently elastic joint) is clearly due to inadequate maintenance.

However, it may be that the maintenance joint was poorly executed from the start. In that case, the contractor is liable under the warranty.

Proof of fault and enforceability of warranty rights, however, are another matter.
