I have 18 electric blinds, 10 of which have central control, which I can definitely recommend.

Inquire about the blinds with all variants. Then you will know what it costs.

But don't forget to ask for the costs from the electrician as well.

Why does speed matter for the roller shutter?
I haven't had a power outage in 17 years.
With more than 10,000 operations, only one motor has had to be replaced so far.

If I imagine having to operate them all manually? 223,000 roller shutter operations in 17 years.

I am in favor of electric and central control. It cost me about 5,000 euros extra back then. It probably costs twice as much today.

If you don't have a central control/automation (which also costs money again, and which apparently is scarce for the OP), then the speed at which the roller shutter goes down is of course relevant. Just think about how much time it would have cost you to perform your 223,000 roller shutter operations in 30 seconds instead of 5 seconds...
Power outages are regionally caused; I have had about 5 in the last 5 years.
You were lucky during the outage. Statistically speaking, more components mean more risk of failure. Especially when electronics are involved (cold solder joint). It doesn't have to be the motor (they are indeed quite reliable) but something in the control system, wiring, etc...
Oh, and I am also in favor of electric, but the OP didn't ask about that.

I can at least give you the price for an approximately 90x120cm window from an average-priced provider that I had in December: Additional net cost from a bare window to manual roller shutters (plastic) about €210, further upgrade to electric (motor with obstacle and torque detection) and aluminum armor another about €250. There was no information about the manufacturer of the motor in the offer.

I don't understand... Do you have to hold your button pressed until it is down?
I just press the button briefly and it then goes down... If it's about time, then it's probably faster to press the button briefly than to unwind the strap?

I press for 2 seconds. But only at the central control. In the meantime, there is surely something like that already with more electronics in the smart home. ;)
