So the argument that some people here are employed and don’t have time for this, well, I laugh at that. Who is employed for more than 10 hours and doesn’t have time after work to have a phone call or answer an email? Does everyone have a break at their company?!? I am also employed and also don’t have time during working hours to take care of the house construction. But if you want, you can manage it.

And if you don’t ask, you don’t get an answer! And if you don’t get an answer or get a wrong one, then it’s actually easier, namely one less company to choose from.

To come back to Stefan. Legally, I have to be especially confident with the major trades! That means my shell construction, the windows, and the roof! Those are the biggest points! If I am in contact with a company myself, then I can keep them if there is a reason and then we talk. Either they deliver the agreed performance or not. And if I am regularly on the construction site, then I also see it. Then there is also the architect who supports you with questions.

All reports on TV about botched construction sites, etc., are 90% developers and the worst "naive builders" who already pay 50,000 euros at excavation and then wonder why the companies don’t come anymore.

If I build and the companies don’t come from a radius of max. 20 km, then I have to question why that is. If I can save 40,000 euros only in the tender for the major trades, that’s something. Besides, I can negotiate own work much easier.

Thank you for your detailed contribution. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to respond just as thoroughly.

Everyone is free to do whatever they want.

For me, this is my way and maybe someday I will be proven wrong or maybe not.

I am confused but not surprised. Resistance to advice is often paired with overconfidence. But that doesn't matter at all, since everyone can really do whatever he / she wants.

Maybe we'll see you then in one of the "Bauretter-Sendungen".

What absolutely ridiculous posts. You know nothing at all about my construction project and write such posts. You are all-knowing and everything certainly works out for you...

Hello 'Heimat2015',

You shouldn't be surprised if what you shout into the forest echoes back at you. Your last reaction to 'voki' proves that his comment can't be that far from reality; details about your BV don't need to be known for that. It's enough that you have so far limited yourself to your statements and turned a cold shoulder to constructive assistance.

And no - not every BV runs smoothly; there are always different causes, but it is often due to the (non-) invested capital. Unlike your approach, there is usually a provider who can be held liable; at least the insurance of the commissioned architect. It has never been effective to save at the wrong end!

I wish you much success with your BV!

Rhenish greetings from the road

I did thank you for the detailed contribution, as I said I just didn’t have time to comment on every point here.... I also consider it unnecessary. In the first post, I merely shared my experiences and so far we haven’t had bad results with them. Everyone has different experiences with companies and their BV.

I am grateful for any well-founded advice on the topic of building.

And about Voki, I can only add that before we get to the Bauretters, he appears on "Bauer sucht Frau."

If you don’t have two left hands, then you are your own Bauretter. And at the right time, not only when the cart is deep in the mud.

In this spirit... I wish all builders much success with their BV.
