How is it actually with the loops of the [FBH]? We are planning a two-family house. Then generally 2 loops go from the ground floor (where the heat pump is located) to the upper floor. From there it splits into the 2 living units. And then? Distribution box and then one thermostat and heating circuit per room. In larger rooms possibly 2 or 3 heating circuits?

Thank you very much for the tips, best regards, Alex

Cooling via underfloor heating is more of a marketing gimmick and wishful thinking by those who had it installed.

To noticeably cool something, you either need a "usual" air conditioner or, for example, cooling ceilings. Cooling the floor brings little to no effect.

How the hydraulics are then executed in the underfloor heating will have to be seen; there are several approaches.

How large/long the individual heating circuits may be is stated in the installation guidelines of the manufacturers.

Underfloor heating makes sense. If gas is available, use gas. The heaters are cheaper and above all simpler, less prone to failure and less prone to misuse. Costs, here 110 sqm 12 months, 660 euros gas costs at eon. Electricity another good 400 euros per year gives 1100 energy per year, dividing by 110 gives 10 euros per sqm per year, all energy-saving ordinance standard without kfw stuff. So these are quite manageable costs. We do hot water mostly with solar, from Easter until today entirely without gas support, a few more days it will still work, then at some point it gets too dark and you have to use heating additionally. When thinking about building technology please don’t think of blinkblink and new rocket technology, but stick to the saying of British sailors, keep it simple, rugged, reliable. Karsten
