Are you serious? And you still let them sell that to you as "Good Will"? Why don’t you let him correct his mess on his own?

I thought the same. Why should I fix the botched work myself? I lose all warranty on it, especially if I can’t do it properly myself. What kind of discount are you getting in cold hard cash? A discount on some service is worthless at first if you didn’t know the price beforehand. Otherwise, the 15€/m plywood windowsill suddenly costs 200€ and there’s a 100€ discount ^^

Ouch. In the warranty dispute you are the party "customer" - now you want to become the agent of the obliged party for rectification in personal union?

I would never agree to that, in the end it looks worse than before (how are you supposed to fix that again, the corners are already chipped) and the construction company says you broke it yourself. The discount (if it even is one) doesn’t help if you always look at the damaged window corners. Why does a client accept something like that, especially when paying a lot of money. We had a tiny defect (small bubble) in the glass of three windows, which was immediately replaced without discussion.

Best regards
Sabine

On what basis would you even want to force a dispute here? It is obviously a minor (compared to the entire window) visual defect that apparently is caused by the machine. I specifically looked at friends' and acquaintances' windows: across manufacturers, the edges are sometimes better, but sometimes also still less cleanly finished. Since there is neither a significant visual defect (scratched window, wrong color, etc.) nor a functional impairment, the chances in a dispute are pretty low. Therefore, I prefer to avoid stress and feel well taken care of in case a real problem arises. I'm just not the type of client who threatens with a lawyer over every little thing.
