Hello, For our Kfw70 new build (145m² + 70m² basement) we had the first meeting with a heating/ventilation installer together with the architect. For me, it is actually clear that I want a controlled residential ventilation system. In the first meeting, I asked, as I have done with all the craftsmen so far: What would you do in my place? The answer was: No ventilation system, but an exhaust air heat pump. If I understood the system correctly,
[*]the windows are kept a little air-permeable (either via ventilation slots in the frame or in the seal) [*]exhaust air ducts are installed for the wet rooms (bathrooms, kitchen) [*]a unit is installed in the basement that sucks in air and transfers heat via a heat exchanger to the domestic water
So actually a ventilation system that does not reheat the air, but the water, if I may summarize it as a layman. I was told that the device including installation is 3,000-4,000€ cheaper for this (I will receive offers for both systems in 10 days). I should add that a gas boiler is planned and that it is a plot in a dead-end street (quiet corner...). Although I have read quite a bit online beforehand, the topic is still quite new to me... What do you think of this? Especially since two rooms in the basement are (additionally) to be ventilated... Many thanks in advance - Julius

That is understandable and comprehensible!
At the latest at this point, I would break off any contact with the respective provider!!!

Hello,

Relatively simple, because with a Kfw 70 an AWP will certainly lead to a money pit (high consumption costs). With a PH, however, it would look quite different.

We have something similar in mind. Controlled residential ventilation is certain, but for us it will rather be a Kfw55 house.
A first estimate says 40kWh/m²a and 5kW heating load .. for 150m²
Does an AWP make sense there? Maybe with a pellet heating system, because where do you get hot water in summer. However, pellet heating systems are probably the most expensive heating systems (they say).
We have a relatively low hot water consumption, about 20l/day for two people. With a granny flat it might be twice as much.
We would gladly forego gas (also because we would need an expensive solar area for it, which probably won't pay off for us - see above). But space for geothermal collector is tight and drilling presumably won't be approved. Air heat pump?
