My structural engineer says that the ventilation ducts probably can't be laid that way because the grid beams are oriented in a specific direction. So I would have to lay the pipes straight and then at an angle. But I can well imagine laying them crosswise over the ceiling, the pipe just won’t lie perfectly straight. What do you think? Best regards Alex

As a rule, it works:

But of course, it also works at right angles.

The pipes are also relatively rigid. Therefore, small radii are rather difficult to produce. How the pipes are ultimately positioned is irrelevant for the function, provided the pressure loss is within limits.

Thank you very much for the great pictures. My supplier offered me the Merk ventilation pipes. I will try to lay the lines with as few bends as possible and keep the radii relatively large. I will lay 2 ventilation pipes to all outlets to remain more flexible with the air volume.

Best regards Alex

Hello everyone,

what do you think is the optimal positioning of the supply and exhaust air roof vents?
The system will be located in the attic and there will be a roof vent each for the supply and exhaust air.
The positions should be at least 2.50-3m apart or even on different sides of the roof.

On which side of the roof should I position the vents? Supply air on the windward side or definitely not on the windward side?

Best regards and thanks for your tips
Alex

2m are sufficient. Which side is absolutely irrelevant.
