personally, I wouldn’t buy a plot of land in Weiterstadt, all the departures from the West runway go over there at a low altitude, it would be way too loud for me. I’d rather look for a plot further away.

Yes exactly, as you say, aircraft noise is obviously extreme in Weiterstadt depending on the district. I was in Weiterstadt-Schneppenhausen yesterday and it was okay. Weiterstadt Gräfenhausen, on the other hand, is supposed to be worse. Nonetheless, of course, still more than now in Riedstadt, Heimstättensiedlung or the like.

I think in the long term, it will also be too extreme for me, I naturally found it extreme yesterday because I was paying attention.

It's not that bad at all. Currently living in Wiesbaden and before that in Darmstadt city center. There is practically no airplane noise. Only the prices are quite steep which is why the city center is out.

Bavaria would be nice but not compatible with our jobs...

Hi there As a Hessian, of course I know that. But Alzenau and Aschaffenburg towards Frankfurt is really annoying...

I wouldn't just dismiss it like that. There are a few other arguments in favor of Bavaria, for example, the real estate transfer tax of 3.5% can be quite a nice incentive.

And if you don't just look south and west of Frankfurt (where it's just as awful to commute to Frankfurt), you would still find one or two spots in the east where it becomes affordable.
