We started the earthworks at the beginning of October, at the end of October the foundation slab was poured and the shell construction began. The roof was almost fully covered just before Christmas and after Christmas the snow came. The windows were only installed at the end of January. That was not a problem. Of course, a lot of luck was involved! But if we had started in March, the shell construction would not even be finished by now. The screed will be installed at the beginning of May. We are building 2.5 floors (>200sqm) with individual contracting in BaWü.

okay, thanks for your experience, yes our house is also smaller, so it should work out, the developer thinks so too. And otherwise it would drag on unnecessarily if we only start next year.

Thank you for your experience, our house is also supposed to be smaller, the developer also thinks that the timing will work.

So if you start in October and the construction company really puts on the pressure, you'll have everything sealed up by the end of November or even earlier. However, if the weather throws a wrench in your plans, so be it. But we live in climate change; the winters aren't cold.

With us, the house also stood over the winter with roof and windows. We then got a small stove at the hardware store for the winter and thus always kept the house roughly warm and continued working. However, it was not really a cold winter. I am now also convinced that there is some truth to the saying that a shell should stand for one winter. With us, everything definitely had forever to dry and yet it was always felt and measured more humid in the house during the first few months with heating. But it slowly improved. I would definitely start if it is really tight by winter. It can always get wet. It just needs a rainy April and May.
