I have already read quite a bit here in the forum, now I am also speaking up.
We also bought a terraced house from a developer, so your situation seems very familiar to me.
The fact is: we have no additional costs to pay that we could not calculate beforehand. We knew exactly how much the house costs and how much the surcharge and the equipment according to our wishes cost. Therefore, it is absolutely not comparable to building a single-family house.
I agree with my predecessors that you have to read the building description carefully (possibly also several different ones to recognize the differences). Everything that is not mentioned there will not be done...
We ended up with a total of just over €30,000 in additional equipment from the developer (bath fittings, chimney flue, garage, stairs, railing, electric shutters, sockets, etc.) but we are still well below €250,000. Floor and wall coverings obviously still have to be done, but that's the case everywhere.
Personally, I would tend towards the terraced house, however, an owners' association would be a disqualifying criterion for me just as a central heating system and an area of only 100 sqm...
