our defects in the construction were very manageable:
- two batches were used for the clinker. Fault of the supplier, as the bricklayers could not see it. The supplier paid unconditionally for the subsequent processing of the clinker bricks. looks good now. was purely a visual defect, technically everything fine. (we did not want a demolition, because that brings in the real problems. looks great now)
- on the upper floor we are missing a small corner in the masonry between two rooms, we are talking about 10x10cm in a corner. the bricklayer will quickly fix that.
overall, I can give the construction company a straight A for the execution two weeks before handover. we really found nothing to complain about. a few small things like a slightly twisted chimney in the masonry (92° instead of 90 degrees), 1-2 spots where the tile is 1-2 mm too "short" at the joints, which will eventually be covered with a silicone joint anyway, and a ventilation system cover in the floor cannot fully cover the tile edge (then there will be a stainless steel cover for free instead of the cheap plastic one, which covers more).
44000 euros damage on 1 house on average? that is a bit exaggerated or someone is just picking out the biggest damages.
we build without an expert, only get a few people with expertise from the family into the house. no one could find anything.
