Thank you! That really helps me! We plan to have the bathrooms finished only to the extent that the connections are laid. We will take care of wall and floor coverings and sanitary fixtures and installations ourselves, we have specialists in the family and among friends. We would also like to take care of the electrical work ourselves (electricians in the family). We hope to save a few thousand euros this way.

Current general contractor offer for a multi-family house in Krefeld. €4,600 per square meter of living space excluding additional construction costs ([Balkone rausgerechnet]).

I had hoped that construction costs might decrease somewhat again. Seems not to be the case.

These are just current snapshots. Different project, different location, completely different prices.

Or the opposite: By the way, I have the impression you asked here about unit prices completely unaware that you cannot compare such values between new construction and renovation with an extension – that's comparing apples and tomatoes!

Please do not underestimate DIY work. Especially if you want to do the electrical work yourself. You must always be ready when required, i.e., always have time and willingness, not be sick, etc., to avoid delaying subsequent trades or holding up the construction. I also would not rely blindly on family support. I have been chasing my brother-in-law for weeks to help me with the terrace railing, which he actually offered to do himself. Not critical, but somewhat annoying.
