Condensation on the base slab? Or are you sure it's that and not rising damp? What does that have to do with painting?

Of course, the expert will tell you that. The trained professional only knows smooth or intentional texture. I once had a painter as a friend who was supposed to paint my bedroom in _nice terracotta color_ in my apartment. I trusted him that it would turn out well and went to Ikea. When I came home, I was greeted by a room in baby beige. Tinted white! I meant color, the professional implemented it professionally, so white with tinting paint. But that had nothing to do with bold color. Q2 means: ready for wallpapering. When a professional sees a Q2 plaster, his brain starts working in the direction of: how to get it smooth, even, and paint-ready at Q2 level. That is creatively counterproductive! Nowadays, courage and exceptions are part of the standard that makes something special out of it.

My tip: paint a Q2 wall in white or color and look at the dried result. If you like it, continue. If you think conservatively, then have a professional do it. Doing it yourself is an ungrateful and lengthy process.

Yvonne would feel very comfortable in our basement - everything in finest Q2.

It should stay like this throughout the whole house, because we already like rough textures, but it just looks... well... adventurous. If I wanted to put it politely.

I filled the rest myself - Q3 to Q4 in the drywall area.

Adventurous?.. I'm past that age :P No, seriously: we executed Q2 well, so experts were surprised because it looks like higher quality. But I am open to creative things and have previously applied textured plaster myself, even mixed quartz sand into paint to make the boringly smooth wall look more lively. And we are furnished in a mix style, rather puristic and industrial style. That's why you should always check yourself and your perspective to see how it affects you and then evaluate accordingly. Not what others consider normal.

Hello again

I received an offer from a local painting company. For kitchen, bathroom, and living room – €4,300 …

We had the drywall ceiling and wall painted white once, could keep it like that – but my wife doesn’t like it. We are now going with fleece textured wallpaper. That will cover quite a few imperfections...

Smoothing attempts with Rotband didn’t work. Unfortunately, it didn’t result in a "Q3". But I’m not a plasterer either.

The paint is Schulz Classic White – but relabeled from a “discounter”. That’s another €10 cheaper.

The paint is really good. Alpina isn’t better either.

Then I painted a lot of primer – a lot got on the tiles/grout as well.

Thank God the splashes came off easily with a cleaning stone (white stone). Whoever invented that yellow crap should be

31.8. is hopefully moving-in day – until then

Best regards
