Our neighbor had click vinyl installed throughout the house by a specialist dealer without any annoying odors. It looks great and she is very satisfied. We are also planning to install vinyl and have been researching over and over for months. We have also taken advice from various specialist dealers and have come to the following conclusion:

There is not only vinyl on the market from EU countries with and without plasticizers (although these are mostly no longer present in most floors), but there is also vinyl from China. I probably don't need to say more...

Where did you buy it?

Today we went again to our favorite leisure center, the hardware store, and there the cheapest vinyl cost almost €25 per sqm, produced in China. At the specialist dealer, vinyl manufactured in Germany with the Blue Angel certification does cost a bit more but it is certainly worth it. Therefore, we have decided to save elsewhere.

I would return it!

Or is it an Austrian company that has it produced in China?
Or just packed in Austria...

We were now at the dealer on site and received advice. He explained that even the vinyl coverings produced in Belgium, Austria, and Germany are all made in China. Without exception! The "manufacturer" from B, A, or... might then possibly add something (I forgot exactly what it was) and then they are allowed to declare it as "made in"...

Good evening.

We are currently also looking for the "right" floor.

It will be installed by ourselves, specifically in the living/dining area with access to the open kitchen (all open)!

Since the floor should be warm to the touch, only cork or vinyl flooring in wood parquet look comes into question.
In the bedrooms, definitely cork click parquet will be installed.

So we are asking ourselves whether to lay cork click parquet in the rest of the house as well, i.e., living/dining area and open kitchen, or a click vinyl?

By the way, there is a Swedish stove in the living room; would there possibly be heat-related problems with cork or vinyl?

How would you decide? And why?

There is no underfloor heating!

Best regards
