You’ll easily empty that. Let’s say you have 200m2 of lawn. Water requirement for lawn in summer is just under 20 liters per m2. That means 4,000 liters per week! That does not yet include hedges, trees, etc. You need even more water during the growth phase. So with 10,000 liters you get just under 3 weeks. The architect has no clue unless he’s a garden architect. Believe me, we have several properties in the family with cisterns and automatic irrigation. My sister is pissed that she only has 7,500 liters. I have also helped with irrigation planning here in the forum a few times. You get dirt in every cistern. With an inlet filter, less. Still, you have to vacuum it out every 2-3 years at the latest. In a large cistern it causes fewer problems. Nowadays always use a pump with a mid-water suction.

The optimal position depends on your property and the house.
Position it so that you can drain all roof, terrace, and sealed surfaces into it.
The soil and position then also determine which type of cistern is sensible to use (flat, cylinder lying down, or upright...). For plastic, you can, for example, take a look at Graf.
The price difference between installing 10k liters or 15k liters is small. For a large excavator, it's just a scoop or two more...

We have a total of about 250 sqm to water. The concrete cistern holds 10,000 liters and that is usually just enough over the spring/summer. I have already had to refill twice. A concrete cistern should be cleaned at most every 5 years. Solid material settles at the bottom over time, and it is not stirred up due to a calm inflow. This regulates the climate by itself and the water does not go bad. I regularly clean the inflow filter inside the cistern, it has never smelled. Year of construction 2014, not cleaned so far. But all this only applies to concrete, which is supposed to have a positive effect on the pH value of the water compared to plastic. A pump or its suction should have a minimum distance of 30 cm from the bottom because of the mentioned deposits.

Hang it with a rope in the middle 30cm above the ground, problem solved.
