Choice of window and roller shutter color

I would be extremely careful with dark roller shutters. They get very hot and that will be a problem. You can probably forget about plastic shutters, but from my own experience I would always recommend aluminum shutters right away. (After two years of constant trouble with warping plastic shutters, we replaced them all with aluminum). And not in any color, but plain natural aluminum. On all other colors, you will see scratches and dents sooner or later. And also in terms of dirt visibility, aluminum=silver is a very forgiving color.

Fake wood yes - but then it’s not a cheap plastic foil. And that looks really cheap, since you are always close to it (and it is, because it’s simply plastic foil).
But it would have the advantage that you could buy a complete apartment furnishing including kitchen for €2,500 at the cheapest furniture store. The look would match the windows. Sorry, that was mean...

We have a small dilemma with the soon-to-start construction. The color of the windows and roller shutters. We would like windows in the color Winchester (double-sided coated). Unfortunately, the window manufacturer does not have the matching roller shutter slats. Therefore, we thought about taking them in anthracite (just like the roof).

I lack the association of a hunting rifle as a window color tone. At night not only cats are grey, I would not put much design thought into roller shutters. I wouldn't choose them in anthracite or similar dark shades from any material, unless I wanted to use the air between the roller shutters and the window panes as radiant heating. At the risk of repeating myself, I’d gladly say it again: RAL is not Pantone. It feels like fifty shades of grey lie between the anthracite of the window film and the anthracite of the roof tiles. Better harmonious, obviously deliberately different color tones than a failed attempted equality of colors.

Nah, that sounds more like "not quite fresh anymore" - also in the sense of expired best before date :)

Fake wood is everywhere in the house. Whether in kitchen fronts (usually not solid wood) or the laminated countertop, on the floor with wood-look tiles or vinyl, etc. That would not be a dealbreaker for us.

I give two tips: 1. reduce the plastic in the house as much as you can 2. reduce the different wood looks and grain/structures as much as you can. Neither adds value.
