Catering for construction crews during building with general contractor

Until now, I didn't know the term for baked goods

That the original meaning of a word is even lost just because one knows certain circles too well, I haven't heard of that either.

Drinks. The bestsellers were water and coffee. I always had it freshly brought by in the morning. I looked around the construction site, asked questions, chatted a bit, and then gave tips like "Look, that .... would be better, or I would do it this way or that way." Especially since I believe that appreciation always pays off.

We didn’t provide full catering either. Sometimes I thought, today just go to the butcher or baker and have it put on my account, or I sent a delivery service. I made sure that every trade got something once in a while. Often they are there for 2 or 3 days, then not again for 3 weeks, and so on. Not so that they say when we’re not there, there’s nothing. My husband sat in the construction trailer with the craftsmen 2 or 3 times and talked with them.

From what I’ve heard, many don’t want 3 meals, no clients who only complain and think they know better, and likewise clients who never show up are not very popular.

We renovated, not built. Therefore, we actually rarely had more than 2 people here. There was a coffee pod machine and there was water, occasionally I also brought something from the bakery, sweet pastries or special wishes like cappuccino. But I have to say in hindsight I could have done a bit more, for example such mixed boxes, we could have refrigerated them. And the mentioned snack basket would have been good as well. I would do something like that in your place too. We also have that at work, where the bosses always provide a variety of drinks and snacks, and that’s really great and a mood booster. Many things can be bought in stock.

We were at the construction site on Monday, and I spontaneously bought a few things. I got an inexpensive coffee machine and coffee, and put down a basket with some cake snacks and chocolate. Wrapped so that people can take something during the week since we are not on site every day.
Also a tin of candies, a tin with some cookies. 2 boxes of water and 1 box with some isotonic soft drinks. The guys said that sometimes they would have a soda in between, but mostly they would drink water.
When we arrived with the stuff, a colleague from the company also came by with a box of water. I apologized for being a bit late, but we had only found out that someone was at the site that morning.
Tomorrow we will go again.
