What is the purpose of the strongly diluted paste? Technically completely wrong.

Good if you say that it is completely wrong professionally, it will surely be true. Well then let's retouch this sentence of mine and listen to Mr. thommi! Lg.

I am thinking of making a small statement on this and clarifying a bit what moves me, which is why I wrote this post or tip—maybe it can help other users. One could talk about certain opinions, explanations, etc., or even help or exchange ideas with each other, but not say or claim something is totally wrong professionally if one doesn’t know what it’s about. I will hereby stop my activities here in the forum. Reason: It is becoming increasingly tedious when other users give inappropriate input and themselves provide such crude answers. Now on the topic of wallpaper paste: When renovating a room—that is, removing old wallpaper and doing plastering work—dust is created, triggered by sanding the walls or from the preliminary work itself. To better bind the dust, one can of course buy an expensive primer or try to clean the surfaces with a broom, which in practice would not be necessary. Wallpaper paste is needed anyway since the walls are being re-papered, so it’s enough to buy one extra package. The advantage would be when priming the walls with wallpaper paste, as follows. The acquisition costs would be lower. The surface becomes dust-free and hardened. The new wallpaper simply adheres better to pre-pasted walls. Well, that was my statement on what I think is not necessary. But whatever. Regards.

Schakal, I don’t know where you got your wisdom from, but primer is not meant to bind dust. If you had a little knowledge of painting, you would know that paste dissolves again when it comes into contact with water. So your alleged hardened surface is done for. So better leave it and don’t keep writing things you don’t understand. I took the time to read your posts. You must have several master certificates. Or why else can you, for example, recommend a conductor cross-section for electrical cables to users, you also know your way around heating and plumbing issues, even down to making concrete, painting and drywall of course, etc. I’d be interested to know what your profession is.

Regards Thommi

Please don’t take this the wrong way or personally, but you really are a very strange bird. Well, since you already took the trouble to sift through my posts, I would ask you to correct all the pointless stuff I write. Personally, I believe you can do that best.
It is true that the primer is not meant to bind dust, but I can definitely tell you that it does. Think about it once—it wasn’t about that, what tasks the primer has or even a product description.
Could you imagine that there are different primers? Have you seen that? Just take a look.
But whatever, I don’t want to discuss that at all …
And now briefly about your version of wallpaper paste.
Do you really want to seriously explain to me that if you prime the walls with wallpaper paste and then stick new wallpaper with paste, it dissolves afterwards because of the water content in the paste itself??
Well, theory, but unfortunately not applicable or, as you so nicely say, technically completely wrong.
PS. This really was my last post, good luck.
Regards.

I currently have a similar problem in one of my rooms. Additionally, the wall has moisture. I simply hired a painter for that and that's that. Before I make a mess of it and the whole thing starts to mold, I'd rather play it safe!
