The plumber also offered me a washbasin with a cabinet and a mirrored cabinet, but I found that ugly. I didn't want a mirrored cabinet at all, and the 60cm washbasin was too narrow for me. I'm sure I could have found something in his catalog as well, but there was already a price attached to those items that was too high for me... In the end, I found a nice, minimalist washbasin (with cabinet) on the internet. Assembly was done by myself; mounting on the wall, connection, and sealing were grudgingly done by the plumber for an hourly wage. Unfortunately, his corner valves and the drawers didn't quite fit. And of course, he didn't feel responsible at all. He simply left it so that the top drawer can't close completely (maybe by about 5mm). Not a big deal, everything works, but of course, it's not exactly nice in the new house.

So we also had enormous problems finding someone to install and connect the stuff for us. I once started a long thread about it a while ago. We didn’t really want to do it alone either. Mounting washbasins on the wall is not like screwing on a shelf, I think. We have an almost 5cm thick, solid oak board, a ceramic sink on it, and the cabinet also weighs a lot. The fittings and screws also have to fit the wall and the holes have to be drilled properly. You don’t want the thing to fall on your foot after half a year. In the end, we found someone, but the search was tough.

We were lucky there, our plumber passed on not the list price but practically the internet price to us.

Our plumber even encouraged us to buy the goods ourselves online because we could get them cheaper there.

So we sat down, made our selection, and then supplemented the list with the necessary components together with our plumber, which we wouldn't have thought of ourselves. Completely trouble-free. But probably because our general contractor doesn't want to make any profit on such goods; he usually just passes them on. He is very transparent about it. In that sense, we took the ordering work off the plumber's hands.

It worked out great.

In the guest bathroom, we also have a Godmorgon hand washbasin. Our plumber liked it so much (he apparently didn't know it) that he said: I'll show this to my wife!

How much I would wish for such a GU/Ü!

I once saw on Reuters that after selecting the sanitary fixtures, you can also directly order the installation through their site. In our case, it was then a local plumber with good Google reviews. However, I do not know the price for the installation.
