All much too complicated... there’s hardware stores and the internet... I’ve had good experiences with that.

I definitely would have fallen flat on my face.
- We didn’t want DIY store products. That comes down to "personal taste"
- I wouldn’t have been able to put together all the necessary connection kits… sealing tapes… and so on by myself. That’s why the specialist trade was the right choice for us. I had agreed with the installer that absolutely EVERYTHING would be ready when he installed.
- Assessing the quality that is sometimes offered online, I couldn’t have managed that in bulk and within the time.
- We visited a total of 4 bathroom showrooms to know what we wanted. So being able to “handle” things was really good. With each visit, the list of items became more concrete, and in the end, we had the offers made accordingly.

Everyone has their personal preferences and prior experiences. For the next house, I will need less support when choosing...

We have chosen the Ikea series Godmorgon for the guest bathroom. Really nice and also high-quality enough. Overall savings of over €500 compared to standard furniture from specialty retailers.

The €5,500 was only for the sanitary objects and their installation. Everything else is calculated separately.

Thanks to everyone first of all. Although we found the furniture we saw in the hardware store, they are very high-quality and visually exactly to our taste. Online, of course, considerably cheaper.

As far as all the fittings, objects, etc. are concerned, we are fortunate that our HSB has agreed to review our online shopping cart to make sure nothing is missing.

And the toilets definitely have visible screws but are rimless.

My fear was that our bank might oppose when we submit the invoices.

One more question about that: who takes over the warranty from when? Our bathroom guy said we can gladly buy the stuff ourselves, but then he is not liable....

If the water comes from the wall, he can then say: well, my piping was fine, the builders probably connected something wrong....

How do you do it?

Oh God. Warranty. I understand that the OP is only installing the sanitary fixtures anyway. It’s usually clear whether the problem occurs inside or in front of the wall....

Every bank is different. But with ours (big blue one) we had almost 15K in receipts and invoices of all kinds (so, OBI, various online shops, etc....); machine rental, tools, materials. That was a huge stack. Payment was made without any problems.
