Building according to the Energy Saving Ordinance 2016 or KfW55

There is a reason why people feel very comfortable in some houses and find others "stuffy." This has to do with the behavior of the inhabitants and with building physics. The wall structure and the connection of different materials to each other (whichever they may be) as well as the technology used for temperature and humidity control certainly play a role. Reducing it to one building material (wood or stone) is just as shortsighted as reducing it to "airtightness." It is the reduction combined with the fundamentally sounding statement that everything else is nonsense that I do not like. Surely some work with metaphors that function more or less well. The process by which a material acts in a moisture-balancing way by absorbing moisture and releasing it back into the room (not through the wall to the outside) as "breathing" is an illustration that is not far-fetched and at the same time literally nonsense.

I am convinced that an ETICS loses insulating properties after 30 or 40 years because it is more exposed to the weather.

By then, it is certainly hazardous waste.

I am 30 years old and expect that my facade will need to be renovated once in my lifetime. A pure brick wall, which achieves its insulating properties through the wall thickness alone (+ air chambers/interior insulation), does not have this problem.
