So first they tested everything with negative pressure. The value was around 1.4 or so. Then they went through everything for about 2-3 hours, taped everywhere, and put foam insulation into some gaps to make it airtight.

Actually, they went through each room twice and tested. Every gap and joint.

It's just that still quite a few things are missing.

- the Katja at the floor they puffed up, meaning it had holes
- the window sills are missing
- this house apron is missing
- the chimney was taped off but not everywhere; it's now going to be clad on Monday with OSB
- etc.

I don't know either. Can I even insist on further fault finding or how would you proceed? I am here to get tips.

You have enough explanations as to why the value turned out to be a bit higher than desired. What do you gain from another value? It's like with the Abitur: later on, no one cares about your grade anymore, only whether you passed.

That's nonsense what you're saying ... the BDT is not there to fall below some theoretical value so that I get money from the KfW, but it shows you, among other things, where air comes into your house that costs you energy ... the value should therefore be as good as possible .... To stick with the comparison to the Abitur: I have the Abitur with a 4.0 but that doesn't say whether I can do math ... So you now have indications of what the problem might be, these have to be fixed, which your general contractor apparently is also trying to do ....

Oh waa... we had the test yesterday. KfW55 construction. Our value was 1.4! According to TÜV, the cause is the socket inserts, the base is not yet glued with perimeter insulation, and the front door did not close properly due to missing locking (power was missing) But 4-! Passed is passed. The errors will be corrected later.

So, airtightness because of missing perimeter insulation - about as meaningful as "it's raining inside because the drywall hasn't been plastered yet".

We were told the test is done before the insulation so that errors can be corrected. The insulation doesn't add much.
