We had also chosen such a stove at Hark, where the glass opens upwards.
I believe Hark could not guarantee the tightness, therefore dependent on room air.

So it could happen that it draws air from the room for combustion -> negative pressure in the room.

and thus a pressure air monitor is necessary.

Our electrician and chimney sweep couldn’t make sense of it, how and where and above all which monitor should be used.

Are you having it installed, masonry etc. by Hark?

Hello,

yes, in my opinion the tightness is the issue, but that doesn’t matter since we have been instructed by Hark to install a pressure switch. Hark assembles the chimney themselves. Is there anything I need to pay attention to?

The only important thing there is the smoke pipe opening. See it as the minimum height measure. The rest can be adjusted with angles and extensions. It just must not be lower. The hole for the intake air can also roughly fit, there is an aluminum flexible pipe for that. Of course, it could be that the installers then say they won't do anything if the measurements don't match. I asked because in the end it sums up to a hefty amount. A regional chimney builder might have been the better choice after all. For the price (Link) you also get a Brunner fireplace insert, independent of room air. I still have old prices for the compressed air guard in mind, it was around 1000. But you’ve probably already signed, so it’s all irrelevant.

Since we have the openings for supply and exhaust air already drilled into the chimney at the factory and the sketch comes from Hark, I am less worried about it now. Certainly, a regional supplier might have been "perhaps better," but there are also bad apples here, and Hark has a good reputation overall, so we decided on them. Which pressure switch would be good? The Luc Leda is quite expensive.

No idea. I couldn’t make sense of the topic I found on the internet. I was glad that, thanks to our controlled residential ventilation system, I didn’t need one.

What must the controlled residential ventilation be able to do so that the pressure switch is not needed?
