Hello everyone,

last summer I discovered a developer who is realizing a great project. After many hours, questions, plans, etc., the purchase contract for a condominium was finally concluded in November, and since then I have been busy planning, bathroom first, then kitchen. Last week, I noticed that I have the wrong plans. Luckily, I am just sick enough that I don't quite understand it yet, but yes, my previous planning was in vain.

Windows were moved or removed. I hope I will somehow manage with that in the kitchen, but it presents real problems in the bathroom. Since I am so out of sorts right now, I’m even considering undoing the purchase contract. I can't think of any solution to reasonably fit everything I want in the bathroom with the new window. Not to mention the issue of connections. Is there any good point of contact for this problem? I already saw the bathroom planner, but as it turned out, this plan would not have been feasible because some walls or windows were not correctly placed. So my trust there is limited now.

I am grateful for any idea. The developer sent me the correct plan with a proposal, which I unfortunately do not like. I don't find the position of the toilet and bidet good, the bathtub will not be freestanding, which I simply cannot afford financially. And the shower absolutely has to be walk-in and 90 cm wide with a bench solution. I am attaching a picture of the plan and look forward to what comes. Maybe someone has a very similar floor plan – intentionally! – and found a great solution.

Thank you very much

How can that happen?

By whom and why?

Floor-to-ceiling window?

Which plan?

Why should the developer do that? I see you as the buyer – eyes shut and push through. As a developer, I certainly wouldn’t let you leave again today.

That’s in the plan. You can walk right in and it’s 90 cm wide. Why absolutely a bench? And how do you envision it?

What is your wish? Then just a non-freestanding bathtub.

After I read your text, I expected God-knows-what, but I don't find the plan as catastrophic as you write. You don't have to design the bathtub freestanding. You can integrate a seat bench into the shower; the desired width is given. What exactly is the problem? Show me your original bathroom plan.

Fortunately, it happened now and not only when the kitchen planner comes to take measurements... It was simply a mistake, plans were changed and not sent or communicated to me. It can happen, but for me it is a problem because trust also suffers. I would have liked floor-to-ceiling windows, but according to the developer it was not possible because a permit would have been required. The old plan is attached. I will raise contract cancellation as an option, he can’t say no to that anyway. So far, the offer has been to modify the already finished components afterwards – that is, patch holes and make new ones elsewhere; I can't imagine that is a good idea. I need the bench seat because my 74-year-old mother will move in with me and I already have to think ahead a bit; showering while sitting is eventually easier than showering standing up.

In summary: The developer’s plan can also be implemented with a non-freestanding tub. The bench can be integrated into the shower. ==> Problems solved that aren’t really there (except in your wishful thinking) Get a discount because of the changed plan and look forward to a great bathroom.

I find the new plan even better than the old one. I don't understand the specific problem with the plan, except that plan changes simply were not communicated. I can understand the frustration about that much more easily. But then there is a clarifying conversation and that’s that.
