Also a good idea, we hadn’t even considered it yet. In this version, in my opinion, we would deprive ourselves of the space next to the toilet or significantly narrow the "entrances" with a cabinet.

Which cabinet? Cabinets belong in the bathroom beside, behind, and under the mirror. Towels can be stored above the door... there is always room for a small comedy... e.g. under the window or in the corner

So I would also try to arrange the large restroom with shower facilities a bit differently.

Says who?

We have an open shelf on which the bath/hand towels lie. My girlfriend does not want a mirrored cabinet and the cosmetics also need to be stored without cluttering the shelf (otherwise, good luck keeping it clean). Therefore, we consciously do not extend the shelf by the toilet across the entire room and leave space for a 60 cm wide cabinet.

Large bathroom with toilet is not bad either, but I think that’s not quite accurate when you draw the toilet to scale in depth and add the cabinets/shelves. I still have to draw it precisely again tonight and then compare both variants.

But you can't see all your points in this plan:

Additionally, the dimensions of the toilet and sink, which do not fit at all.

If you want to build a bathroom around an existing cabinet, you would already have a bathroom design that needs no improvements. If you draw your sink and toilet with the correct depth, you can already look into the drain when entering and sit on the toilet while brushing your teeth. You’ll manage that.

Says the one who invented the small bathrooms for a growing family – this house plan definitely did not come from me. Mind you: everything could have been a bit more comfortable, including the bathroom, but someone didn’t think it through properly...

P.s. I don’t have a mirror cabinet either... ;)
