Spontaneously better :) Keep in mind with the washing machine cabinet that the door also sometimes has to be left open when wet laundry is waiting to be taken out.

I like it better too. The towel holder could definitely get wet while showering (or the towel on it). Also, with us it would splash out (1.7m), which might be inconvenient in front of the toilet. But that is very individual, or also a matter of habit.

As ypg writes, it could possibly be problematic if a laundry basket is in front of the washing machine and a child urgently needs to find the way to the toilet. But that is again a matter of habit or discipline needed when having a washing machine in the bathroom.
