Basement wall height, too low?

To me, this height sounds like a normal utility basement, whose height has been reduced by the installation of underfloor heating. That is, it seems you ordered underfloor heating, but not an additional story increase to compensate for the construction height. I wouldn't be surprised if the rooms are not listed as living spaces in the plans, because otherwise both a minimum room height would have to be observed and escape routes provided. Why are you heating the basement, are the potatoes supposed to be nice and cozy?

The rough construction measurement is without plaster. 2cm fits well.

Can I somehow understand – we also didn’t do much research regarding the heights. Only by chance did I mention it during the planning, and then I was able to increase the height on the ground floor. But it was never brought up by the other party. We have a similar situation in the attic: we got a "benefited house" with a discount, on the condition that we could not make any changes to the statically relevant parts after signing the contract. So now I’m annoyed that we have a very low attic, in which you can basically only move around crawling. These are the experiences you just have, and there’s a reason for the saying: "You build your first house for your enemy..." One question: what door dimensions do you have down there?

It's stupid. I can understand that. But I don't think there's anything you can do about it anymore, except have the underfloor heating removed again. But that's rather not an option. But even if you could claim a defect, what would you hope for? After all, the ceiling won't get any higher from any "compensation payment." So try to accept it. Everything will be better with the next house. What rooms were planned down there?

Well, but the GU / BT / architect is absolutely an idiot if someone orders underfloor heating and windows for the basement from him, but he does not point out that the ceiling height will no longer fit the obviously intended use at all. Of course, the client has to be aware of this too, but it's like a car accident, it always takes two parties screwing up for anything to really happen.

The typical case is probably more like this: 1. The GC has the required ceiling height for the utility basement specified in the construction service description; 2. The GC tells the client: if you officially make living spaces, you need escape routes; 3. The client tells the GC: then we have to label it a hobby room on the floor plan, but we order underfloor heating separately; 4. The GC delivers the utility basement with underfloor heating, whereby the client does not order a story height increase and the construction height of the underfloor heating is logically simply subtracted from the clear height. 5. Let’s assume I were with the fire brigade – then I would say, the moral of the story did not hit the wrong person.
