What exactly do you mean by multimedia outlets? Homeway? I'll throw in a very provocative question now: why still have TV outlets at all? For me, they are increasingly a relic of the past. Personally, I would rely on a well-dimensioned LAN network and definitely lay the cables replaceably in the conduit. Unlike electricity, telecommunications are changing faster, and nothing is more future-proof than a well-dimensioned empty conduit.

I would also always install empty conduits again and again. We have one to the garden gate, which has already proven to be worth its weight in gold 3 times.

Hi.
we have a 200 empty conduit in the garden, so we are flexible in that regard.

But when I think about having to pull M20 or rather M25 later on, if I want to pull something through the ceiling into the utility room, I get dizzy. All the lighting, blinds, and power circuits. That’s easily 80 to 100 cables going down to the utility room from the attic. If I go through with M20 or M25, I will need about 1sqm of ceiling breakthrough. How often have you pulled new cables into the house?

... I would have the initial suspicion of an unfavorable network topology.

Where there is no styrofoam block, concrete simply flows in. Those who do not plan have to drill.

So basically just as a localized edge protection? – whether I would use empty conduits for that ...

What exactly are you afraid you won’t be able to handle with Gigabit Ethernet over 8P8C "Western" connectors?
Is coax copper still used for anything nowadays, or do you mean rather fiber optic?

KNX of course, plenty of light fixtures, LEDs and for each a cable for the blind motors. It adds up. I quickly come to 80 cables that have to go to the utility room.

The other craftsmen don’t pay attention to the cables and the empty conduit offers protection and I could later access it with manageable effort. The cables go down behind the WC partition wall into the utility room. I could even go so far as to have that section opened as a pull conduit somehow. Then I would have protection with the empty conduits on the floor and, in the unlikely event, I could still access it later. Sure, the WC has to come down, tiles and so on, but it would be possible.

Now I have already milled LAN and coax as a separate outlet in the attic. You never know. I would lay both cables and then we’ll see.

In my conviction, an empty conduit is only worth as much as it is empty, that is, how much reserve it offers – otherwise, it is downgraded to a protective conduit. And no pull-through capability replaces thinking about the network topology, but can always only complement it!
