Bad layout, which shower wall/door?

Hello,
I need some tips for the bathroom. The layout should be as shown in the attachment.
What would you do with the gap between the shower and the bathtub?
Enlarge the shower so that it extends to the bathtub? If so, would a partition be necessary or could it be omitted? The splashing water would land in the bathtub anyway.
Or maybe build a wall for the shower and put hooks for towels in the gap?
Maybe someone has ideas?
The next question is about the shower wall/door. Glass is often used. I personally also like that, but I’m pretty sure that except for me, no one will use a squeegee after every shower. And then the glass probably won’t look good after a short time... What are the alternatives?

How do you get into your shower? No matter which side opens, it touches a corner.

I would change the entire arrangement.

A few measurements of the room would be good ;)

So – we also have two showers each with two glass walls. What you say is correct. You should squeegee them after showering. We do that regularly – so our shower walls still look like new after 2 years.

But we also squeegee the other two walls (tiles, ceiling-high in the shower) and briefly dry the fittings with a towel. It takes a maximum of one minute. Otherwise, there would eventually be lime spots and deposits there too – but those could probably be removed more easily than from “grimy” glass.

Okay – I understand, that’s not everyone’s thing. Personally, I do think: The people who shower at home can leave the shower clean and dry. All the guests we’ve had so far did this without being asked and perfectly. So it doesn’t seem uncommon for people not to leave a wet mess in the bathroom – after all, we’re not at a public swimming pool.

In a show house in W’thal I saw a nice solution about 1.5 years ago. I’m not in the mood to make a drawing right now.

So: Shower about 2 – 2.5 m long, about 1 – 1.5 m wide. You can vary that, these figures are estimated from memory. Fittings on the outer wall in this case. Opposite a wall inside (in the mentioned width of 2–2.5 m). Of course, the outer wall was wider: the shower was accessible from both sides (of course, one side would also suffice).

I found that quite charming, since you don’t need any glass walls or similar. Just a wall/opposite wall. All tiled. Done. But if you always leave such a shower soaking wet, eventually everything on the tiles, grout, and fittings will get grimy and yellowed there too.

Whether you could fit that into your place, maybe as a smaller construction... I don’t know, I didn’t check the measurements. Just a suggestion in response to the question: What else is there?

Also: Plastic on shower walls is no better than glass. But you could have the glass treated later or right when you buy it with a “lotus effect” agent. Then the water beads off the glass. Or you train your household members to treat the house and its furnishings carefully from the moment they move in. As an alternative, constantly and regularly clean with aggressive agents/lime remover or hire a cleaning professional to keep the place tidy... (expensive).

Best regards
Thorsten

I was thinking either of a sliding door or a door that opens inward. If you extended the shower up to the bathtub, the space should also be sufficient.
