Hello dear Ikea fans!

I am currently assembling my new Pax Tonnes wardrobe (2m wide, 2.36m high, 58cm deep). The carcasses and the strips for the door hanging were no problem. The sliding doors are a whole different kettle of fish: When I had inserted the panels and wanted to attach the penultimate metal strip, which goes at the very bottom later, it didn’t fit properly. It sticks out about 5mm. This meant that I couldn’t get the last side metal strip in because it’s skewed. With the first sliding door with the flowers, I also didn’t get the bottom strip fully in, but the side strip went in, so it pulled together somehow properly, so that door is already done. Now I am at the white door and can’t get any further... Please help me

Yours, Mareike

Dismantle and put back together again...

Or has it worked already...?

Hello Maverick!

Thanks for the reply. In the meantime, I have installed the interior of the cabinet and it is totally great! Taking it apart and putting it back together would have been my next step anyway (I had to do that with the first door as well, but a metal part still sticks out a few mm . I sincerely hope that this doesn't cause the door to scrape later) I’m going to get to work now.

Have a nice day !
Mareike

So, I did what you said. I have now managed to get all the outer metal strips in with more or less force, but the lower one on the right still sticks out about 5mm, which means I can't get the screws in on the back because the drill holes are misaligned.

How sensitive is the glass to shocks, actually? I tried carefully to get the strip in with a hammer and a cloth in between, but it didn't help and I was afraid the whole time of breaking the glass.

Please give me tips and tell me about your experiences! Thank you, Mareike

There is only one solution: disassemble the door, go to IKEA and exchange it. Seems to be a product defect.
