I would give the west garden more space, also the west windows more room, so for me the carport goes to the right. That way the house shifts a bit to the left. We usually enjoy the east less due to our daily routines.
Ideally, the house has almost as many windows on the west as on the south. So that the carport/garage doesn’t block the valuable windows, I would rotate the carport so that there is a right angle between the front door and the carport driveway. If necessary, I would push the house back by another meter.
