I am just an amateur and have "sawing off" in my memory. Maybe my imagination also played a role. How is it done so that the gap at the bottom of the door becomes larger? Sawing off doesn't seem to be quite correct...

Door slightly shorter, so that there is a gap or over the frame. There is a piece milled out at the top and normally not visible.

It is ordered accordingly.

How large the corresponding overpressure openings need to be naturally depends on the volume of air that should pass through the door. This results from the respective calculations and therefore cannot necessarily be answered in a general way.

For example, with a volume of 40m³ and a door width of 90cm, a gap of 1cm under the door is sufficient. For 80m³, 2cm are already required (source komfortlüftungPUNKTat). However, for the same volume, a gap of 2mm or 4mm between the frame and the wall would also be sufficient.

Personally, for optical and soundproofing reasons, I would therefore probably prefer the frame as an overpressure opening.

How big were they for you? I don’t notice anything regarding soundproofing. Only when cleaning they become noticeable, because feather duster and wiping over is not enough
