Approval of the rough staking protocol: who has to provide it?

Hello everyone, unfortunately, we have a conflict where the parties involved (surveyor, architect, site manager) have differing opinions. The surveyor (or one of his employees) carried out the rough staking out and now wants to have the staking out sketch approved in writing. The protocol of the rough staking out includes a signature line. Only after this written approval will he carry out the fine staking out. Neither the architect nor the site manager want to countersign here and demand this from the surveyor (self-control of the work). The question now is: who is responsible for approving the rough staking out protocol? Is there a uniform/clear regulation? Many thanks for your support and best regards, Martin

I don’t understand the problem. Last week we had the fine staking out and a few days before that the rough staking out. We were never asked for a signature/approval. What is the approval supposed to be for?

The surveyor wants to cover his ass in case he made a mistake during the rough staking out and it turns out during the fine staking out that the base level might be too close to a boundary or something at some corner. In my opinion, a bullshit maneuver, but there shouldn’t actually be any problem. I retraced it once again in my email correspondence and saw that my surveyor also wanted something like that. I then asked the construction manager if everything was alright from his perspective. He said yes, but that I didn’t have to do anything about it. I mean, I actually didn’t sign it. And it went on. But honestly, I’m at a loss as to whether then the construction manager or someone else from the construction company signed it. But I would have signed it at that time.

How is anyone other than the surveyor himself supposed to say whether he measured correctly? We did not have such a procedure, and if we had, I would have asked my site manager/architect if he sees any defects before I sign. But as I said, I would have trouble understanding why I should sign this now
