I do not understand the problem. We had the fine staking out last week and a few days before that the rough staking out. At no time was a signature/approval from us requested. What is the approval supposed to be for?

We also never had to provide a signature.

The surveyor wants to cover his ass in case he made a mistake during the rough staking out and it turns out during the fine staking out that the base might be too close to a boundary or something at some corner. From my point of view, a cock maneuver, but actually there should be no problem. I once traced it again in my email correspondence that my surveyor also wanted that. Then I asked the site manager if everything was okay from his point of view. He said yes, but I didn’t have to do anything about it. I mean, I actually didn’t sign it then. And it went on. But to be honest, I’m at a loss whether the site manager or someone else from the construction company signed it. But at that time, I would have signed it too.

And what are you paying for then? I could just measure with a tape measure myself :-)

How far should it go? What are the experts and trained people there for? To just send invoices?

How is anyone other than the surveyor himself supposed to say whether he measured correctly? We did not have such a procedure, and if we had, I would have asked my site manager/architect if he sees any defects before I sign. But as I said, I would have trouble understanding why I should sign this now.

Maybe hire another surveyor who won’t spoil the surveying of the surveyor??
