There are so many providers,... In the neighborhood of the parents-in-law, someone built with eksjöhus a few years ago. Pretty house. We had considered building a Swedish wooden house for a while, but then gave up because, in our eyes, it simply does not fit into the landscape.

And are the neighbors happy with the house?

Well, that's not quite true. Aluminum and vinyl have been and are used more in cheap renovations and in some new constructions. Wood has always been the number one building material and is even required in historic districts and affluent areas with HOAs. And yes, it’s no fun to paint an entire house every 10-15 years. :D

Check here: (that would be a Stommel house), or of course here: - : who did you actually build with, your avatar also looks "Swedish house"-like?

We do not have a Swedish house even though it almost looks like it. The wall construction with solid wooden exterior walls is similar to Thoma Haus. No idea if they still exist in the same form as over 20 years ago. Our general contractor was Zellbau in Bad Waldsee, which no longer exists. It was carried out by Holzbau Walser in Bad Schussenried, whom I can warmly recommend - both professionally and personally, and there is a lot of nice things to see on their homepage.

I am very happy about the thread. I really like this style and would have liked to build one or two bay windows, a front veranda, and even a turret at our place :)

Thank you for the good tips.

To summarize:

Stommel Haus and Baufritz can be recommended. Is that correct?

No one has had any experience with Rörvikshus yet?
