um. Who pays for the house in case of sudden occupational disability? I consider disability insurance in a proper amount absolutely necessary. What comes from the state is almost negligible. Legal protection insurance is up to each individual.

Without wanting to start a big debate now... Private RV can now be considered legal fraud, so please make sure to find out exactly whether it is worth it in individual cases (usually not). Please also do not overestimate BU, hardly anyone ever gets a € out of it... you can also read plenty about this if you look for it...

... the costs for childcare vary greatly regionally. 400 € per month is already very expensive.

I simply assumed that the disability insurance would exist even without home ownership. By RV I meant the pension insurance.

Whether disability insurance & pension insurance are worthwhile or not is another matter. But for example, an already existing, older pension insurance can be quite attractive.

Fortunately, we still have old RV. I think 2.75 or 3%.

You can only dream about that today.
I was also torn back and forth regarding the BU... after all, a lot of money. But I have two family members myself who would both be renting again today without this insurance.

Regarding childcare: we are lucky to only have to pay 400 €. In Karlsruhe, we would have had to pay almost 750 €, with absolute uncertainty about getting a spot at all.
In the Palatinate, we have to bridge one year, since from the second year of life every child is allowed to attend kindergarten, and that for free.

So that puts it into perspective.
But one should not lose sight of such costs.

One addition I have: If you receive parental allowance, and it is somewhat higher than 1000 € per month, you should URGENTLY set aside about 200 € monthly for this year. The tax repayment is not insignificant. Fortunately for us only 2000 €, but for friends they have to repay 4000 € just like that.

Hello

this is slowly drifting away here from pure ancillary housing costs to complete living expenses including retirement provision,
