Hello,

we have received an offer from a GÜ.
A steel stringer staircase with wooden steps is included as standard.
For a reinforced concrete staircase with wood or tile covering, he charges €5,900.

It is a straight staircase without a landing, 14 risers, 1m wide.
1 floor, ground floor to first floor.

"Stair option - reinforced concrete as in-situ concrete staircase with smooth formwork, chamfered edges, with impact sound insulation bearings according to static calculations and execution planning. With a wood or tile covering."

That seems like a lot to me..

Another question: What do you want to do about it? Besides a trade attempt, you have no leverage...

Our podium staircase, which is certainly a bit more elaborate, costs 1800 euros - without covering. Add another 500-1000 euros for the covering, then you have the costs as they would be in the "free trade".

The crazy thing is that it's a surcharge...

You probably can't do much. For a 180° spiral staircase, also about 1m-1.20m wide, I paid 0 euros extra for a reinforced concrete staircase instead of a steel stringer-wood staircase. However, this was agreed upon BEFORE signing the contract.

Well, we are still in the offer phase. Nothing signed yet. I have the impression that all extras are offered VERY expensively. Before I address that, I wanted to have confirmed once again that these are indeed astronomical prices.

For example also:
- Surcharge for colored windows outside 3100€
- Surcharge for electric roller shutter with simple switch 380€ per window
- instead of 24cm perforated brick+12cm WDVS Unipor W09: 13,800€
- instead of 24cm perforated brick+12cm WDVS 24cm KS + 16cm WDVS: 5300€

So reinforced concrete stairs in Gießen are pretty much the cheapest when it comes to stairs. The surcharge really surprises me.

The concrete staircase should also be cost-neutral in Bavaria compared to a standard book staircase.

BUT .... masonry parapet - alternatively stainless steel, handrail and covering then have to be purchased at an additional cost. Then it depends again on the owed standard - according to BB - of the provider. Of course, this can also be handled in EL

Rhenish greetings
